The Jackson County Economic Development Foundation will hold its Spring Investors Dinner Thursday at the Ocean Springs Civic Center.
The Foundation is a nonprofit organization funded by investors from the private and public sector.
The annual event is a way for the Foundation to give investors an update on its progress.
It was established in 1993 to respond to the economic development needs of Jackson County and provide for business and industrial growth through a partnership between the private and public sectors.
The keynote speaker of the event will be Gray Swoope, executive director of the Mississippi Development Authority.
Swoope will present an update on some of MDA’s ongoing projects and programs.
Other speakers include Irwin Edenzon of Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding Gulf Coast who will give an update on the status of the Maritime Training Academy that will be built on Jerry St. Pe’ Highway.
Also, Bill Skinner of VT Halter Marine will talk about the progress of the company’s Egyptian Fast Missile Craft Project and Samuel Adcock of EADS N.A. will report on the KC-45 Tanker contract.
About 200 guests are expected to attend the dinner program, said Amber Barron, JCEDF communications and marketing projects manager.
Attendance is by invitation only.
