Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Hurley man on charges related to an alleged counterfeit check processing operation he apparently set up at his home, Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd said.
Reginald Scott Thomas, 39, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of uttering forgery in connection with the alleged operation.
Thomas allegedly used another person’s identity, including their bank account numbers, along with a fraudulent identification card, to pass the checks at two local businesses, Byrd said.
Thomas was arrested at his home in the 8200 block of Dapp Road in the Hurley community. -Thomas was taken to the Jackson County jail pending a bond hearing.
