BAY ST. LOUIS
The $10 million renovation to Hollywood Casino Bay St. Louis is being done so visitors barely notice the work, but the new Bogart’s Steakhouse is designed to be a show-stopper when it opens April 30.
Spokesman Bob Davidge said the fine-dining restaurant will incorporate the Bogart’s name used at many of the Hollywood Casino properties owned by Penn National Gaming around the country with the same chefs and attentive staff that gave Tuscany Steaks and Seafood such a following.
“The biggest difference is going to be in the décor,” he said. Now that the casino barge damaged during Hurricane Katrina is gone and the marina rebuilt, the wall of the former poker room was opened up to the views of The Bridges Golf Course and boats heading from the Jourdan River to the Bay of St. Louis.
A new martini bar and live piano music will add to the theme of Bogart’s when it opens at 5 p.m. on April 30, said Davidge. Reservations will be accepted starting April 28.
Executive chef Jostlin Necaise and his team have created a menu that showcases Southern favorites with fresh Gulf seafood and Angus steaks.
“All the favorites are there,” said Davidge, along with new specialties. The taste of the South starts with appetizers of barbecued shrimp, baked oysters and fried green tomatoes, and entrees include Mardi Gras chicken and seafood au gratin with Gulf shrimp, crabmeat and crawfish. The prime choice at the steakhouse are the chops and steaks, up to a 24-ounce porterhouse.
