Agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics seized hundreds of prescription pills during a raid in Long Beach after a three-month investigation.

Paul Samuel Maggard, 25, of the 200 block of Shady Lane, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Agents seized more than 200 10-milligram dosage units of methadone as well as more than 100 30-milligram dosage units of oxycodone.

The drugs have a combined estimated street value of $7,500, said MBN Director Marshall Fisher.

A .25-caliber semi-automatic pistol and more than $4,300 in cash were also seized, he said.

Maggard is in the Harrison County jail on $60,000 bond.
