HAMMOND, LA (WAFB)

A 21-year-old man is in jail after allegedly shooting at a house, then daring the sheriff’s office to visit his home.

According to reports, the resident of the home on Tin Can Alley heard three gunshots then glass breaking.  After waiting a few minutes, he found damage to the front of his home from what appeared to be a drive-by shooting.  The victim later allegedly received a call from a man saying “I will kill you.”

While a deputy was investigating, the victim received a second phone call from the man and handed the phone to the deputy.  The caller identified himself as Dustin Ladew, spelled his name for the deputy and dared the sheriff’s office to visit his residence.

Deputies went to Ladew’s home and arrested him without incident.  He has been charged with simple assault, harassing phone calls and an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for traffic violations.
